Clean Water for All God’s Children
Objective:
to make a personal water bottle by decorating a ‘blank’ plastic bottle with student’s name
and symbols of God’s gifts of water and baptism
Materials Needed:
one ‘blank’ plastic water bottle for each student (these can be bought commercially for
about $1.; one source is
Tangibles
615-426-4195); craft foam; permanent markers; rubber
cement or craft glue
Teacher Instructions:
Using cut-outs of craft foam, have children decorate their bottles with symbols of water and
baptism (suggestions: dove, drop of water, scallop shell, eight-pointed star); use rubber
cement or craft glue. Hint: it may help to use removable tape
over
the foam shapes to keep
them adhered to the bottle until the glue dries. Put each student’s name on his/her bottle in
permanent marker.
