Farewell, versatile Emily, and Godspeed
By BILL REED
I happened to look back through some
LWW history recently as laid out on the
Status of Projects database.   The number
of systems installed around the world by
LWW trained teams in recent years is de-
picted in the graph below.
I am reminded of the line from Proverbs
13.  “Wealth hastily gotten will dwindle,
but those who gather little by little will
increase it.”
I would submit that this steady growth
is what needs to happen.  Of course, it
should be mentioned that in recent years,
LWW has gradually increased its emphasis
on sustainability.  This means that a larger
percentage of our efforts go into country
networks, operator conferences, system
rehabs.
Thus while the number of systems
Steady growth is mark of LWW progress
installed is growing modestly, the overall
amount of work is growing at a faster rate.
This is the kind of story that we need to be
telling.
Check elsewhere in this newsletter for
word on exhibits at major events this sum-
mer.
It was interesting to note that since last
summer 200 churches ordered the LWW
Vacation Bible School materials. A number
of supporters have made presentations this
summer at churches using our VBS. Of
course, there are tens of thousands of U.S.
churches which conduct a VBS of some
kind each summer.  You might keep that in
mind for your church in the years to come.
See Page 5 to learn more about a couple
of the VBS programs that were held this
summer.

It is never easy to say
goodbye when one of the
“cornerstone” people in an
organization heeds the call to
employment elsewhere. Never
easy in so many ways!
We in Living Waters for
the World now find ourselves
facing the hard reality that
our wonderful Emily Dunbar
– office administrator and
CWU registrar – will end her
nine years of work with us and
the Synod of Living Waters on
August 17, 2012.
Serving with such grace and
skill as the communications
“hub” for both LWW and the
synod for all these years, has
however well prepared her for
her new work as the coordina-
tor of electronic communica-
tions for the Tennessee Society
of Certified Public Accountants.
Many of you have had the
privilege and opportunity of
working with Emily, discover-
ing in the process what a fine,
super-competent and profes-
sional person she is. How
impressed I’ve been over the
years of watching her handle
the dizzying blur of necessary
activities flooding her desk, and
all seeming so effortlessly done.
Oh, how she will be missed!
Emily’s life and work has
been a true blessing. Begin-
ning at the same time the
Holy Spirit whipped up the
dream calling us to train and
equip others, this soon led
us to found our Clean Water
U with the first session com-
ing in March 2004. From
this beginning, Emily has
been there, helping develop
and grow this amazing mis-
sion and ministry of ours.
So with great thanksgiv-
ing and sadness I (we) say,
THANKYOU Emily! May
you, Dustin, Owen and Isaac
be always blessed.
To God the glory and let
clean water flow!
