Clean Water for All God’s Children
Objective:
to reinforce to children that baptism, as a sign and seal of God’s grace and a mark of
entrance into the community of faith, connects them to Jesus and to all of the baptized
believers of the past, present, and future.
Materials:
paper of various colors, with ‘names’ copied onto them; staplers; copies of baptism
coloring sheets appropriate for the age level; crayons.
Teacher Instructions:
have children make daisy chains from strips of colored paper with the words ‘Jesus,
father, mother, sister, brother, grandmother......’ on them (see pattern).
Notes:
1.) you may want to cut the paper into
strips ahead of time
2.) staplers are difficult for very small
children – you may have to do the
stapling for them;
3.) for older children, have some blank
strips on which they can write the
names of specific people that they
know are believers to whom their
baptism connects them
4.) coloring sheets are included for
children too young for this activity,
or in case some children complete the
activity
If the children finish the daisy chains, they may
wish to color the picture of Jesus’ baptism
included here.
