(Genesis 21:14-19)
Hagar, Ishmael banished to the desert;
discarded pawns in battle for progeny.
Trusting God’s promised nation-raising,
Abraham chases them away,
meal, skin of water their only defense.
Beersheba: well of the oath;
irony drips in desert, water doesn’t.
Tears fow fast and free,
offspring withering on the vine.
Unbearable to witness demise,
she gives bush for shade, pall.
God’s ears, plan overwhelm inevitable.
Another nation promised instead;
eyes open to well of hope.
LivingWater sustains life again!

When Leland, Miss., held a “Frog
Fest” to celebrate the 75th birthday of
the late Jim Henson, the Muppets cre-
ator and a childhood Leland resident,
Living Waters for the World was there.
Leland Presbyterian Church’s LWW
team ran its portable water fltration
unit, providing festival attendees with
about a hundred gallons of clean water
— one cup at a time (Matthew 10:42).
The occasion also celebrated the 20th
anniversary of the Jim Henson Museum
in Leland and the renaming and dedi-
cation of the “Rainbow Connection“
bridge over Deer Creek!.
Thanks to those participating or
helping: Lee Stovall, Hardie and Lee
Frankel, Evan, Joseph, and Shaun Smith,

ture and the display were furnished by
