Deanie
  Richardson

violin/fiddle, viola, mandolin

When Deanie Richardson was nine years old, Santa Claus brought her a fiddle for Christmas. That one gift would chart the course of her life forever.

After a childhood that included winning two state fiddle championships and appearing on the Grand Ole Opry, Deanie received a call in 1995 to audition for Award Winning Vocalist, Patty Loveless. She was asked to play with Patty at the end of the audition. Deanie toured and recorded with Patty from that point forward. She played on Patty's Grammy nominated, critically acclaimed "Mountain Soul" record as well as her Christmas CD "Bluegrass and White Snow: a Mountain Christmas", "On Your Way Home", and "Dreamin' My Dreams".

Deanie is a 2010 Academy of Country Music Fiddle Player of the Year nominee. Her versatility on the fiddle has been most recently in evidence playing with country superstar Vince Gill and as a guest member of Grammy-winning Irish musical group, The Chieftains, with whom she has completed several U.S. and overseas tours.
